The concept of an advanced AI system turning on its creators/humanity/whatever teens happen to be in the area is not necessarily a new one for the horror genre, but it does feel like it's been a while since we saw this trope executed well. The good news is, the upcoming Margaux, directed by Steven C. Miller and co-written by Chris Beyrooty and Nick Waters, looks to be bringing it back in a fun, new way.

For starters, here's an official plot synopsis:

"What Margaux wants, she gets. As a group of seniors celebrate their final college days at a smart house, the house's highly advanced AI system, Margaux, begins to take on a deadly presence of her own. A carefree weekend of partying turns into a dystopian nightmare as they realize Margaux's plans to eliminate her tenants one way or another. Time begins to run out as the group desperately tries to survive and outsmart the smart home."

Next up: two just-released clips showing the titular Margaux in action. In the first, we see the sinister Smarthome putting its AI skills to use on one of the above-mentioned seniors while they're in the pool...

In the next, Margaux ... well, just watch. This house is not fucking around.

Margaux looks sleek, sexy, and violent - three flavors we certainly enjoy here at FANGORIA - and we're looking forward to checking it out via VOD over the weekend. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in getting in on, do be aware that we've got a giveaway running even as we speak for ten free digital codes. Get over there and get signed up!
