Those looking for something scary and fun to watch on the week of Halloween now have at least one extremely good option, as Barbarian is set to arrive on Digital on October 25. Disney has confirmed that the film will indeed arrive on all major digital platforms at that time, meaning one of the best horror movies of the year will finally be available from the comfort of home.
As of this writing, the studio has yet to announce when the Blu-ray, DVD, and/or 4K Ultra HD disc will hit shelves, but that feels inevitable. The important thing is that Disney is ensuring folks can enjoy director Zach Cregger’s wildly unpredictable ride this spooky season outside of theaters if they choose. To make things even easier, the film will also be available on HBO Max, so you can either stream it there, rent or purchase it if you feel so compelled.

Barbarian initially hit theaters in early September, and its clever marketing campaign managed to keep just about every major surprise the movie had to offer tightly under wraps. That simple yet effective intrigue paid off, as the film topped the box office on its opening weekend and has since made nearly $40 million against a mere $4.5 million budget. The synopsis for the film reads as follows:
“Arriving in Detroit for a job interview, a young woman books a rental home. But when she arrives late at night, she discovers that the house is double booked and a strange man is already staying there. Against her better judgment, she decides to spend the evening, but soon discovers that there’s a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.”
For those who intend to rent or purchase the film digitally, it will come with some bonus features to sweeten the pot. Admittedly, the bonus features are a bit thin. One can only hope that side of things will get a bit beefier with the physical release, but I digress. For now, here’s what viewers can look forward to:

The movie stars Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgard, Justin Long, Matthew Patrick Davis, Richard Brake, James Butler and Kurt Braunohler. Cregger also penned the screenplay in addition to directing. Arnon Milchan, Roy Lee, Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz served as producers, with Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Danny Chan, Alex Lebovici and Skarsgard on board as executive producers.
