GRUMMY (2021)

We've got a brand new body horror flick on the horizon courtesy of James Wan's Atomic Monster. The project, entitled Cosmetic will be written and directed by filmmaking duo R.H. Norman and Micheline Pitt, based on an idea from Wan and Ingrid Bisu (Malignant, The Nun). According to Deadline, the story takes place within the beauty industry, "colliding the worlds of glamour and body horror in a supernatural tale of one girl’s deadly pursuit of perfection."

Wan has brought countless genre fare to life, including Chainsaw Awards favorite Malignant, the Conjuring universe, and the world of Annabelle. Norman and Pitt have previously teamed up on the dark fairytale, Grummy, based on Pitt's real-life childhood assault survival story. Cosmetic will weave supernatural elements into beauty industry horrors, and as founder and creative director of two multimillion-dollar fashion companies, Pitt will likely have an interesting take on the industry. Combine that with Wan, Bisu, and Norman and it sounds like we're in for one hell of a gorgeous ride.

We'll keep you posted as more Cosmetic news drops, in the meantime check out Grummy, starring Violet McGraw (The Haunting of Hill House), Tom Degnan (Limitless), and Alexander Ward (Westworld). You can watch the full short below, and also take a peek behind the scenes in our on-set visit.
