Folks, the first full trailer for AMC's forthcoming Interview with the Vampire series has many sights to show us. More interviewing. More vampirism. More characters, locations, and gorgeous costumes. More blood. It also briefly showcases the weird little guy pictured at the top of this page, and I've decided to write this whole post around his blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo because - let's face it - weird little guys rule and should be celebrated whenever possible.

Here's the trailer:

Didja see him?! There, at the 2:01 mark. Just a dude wearing a warthog head atop his resplendent evening attire, the belle of the ball. Of course the Interview with the Vampire series will also be retelling the classic Anne Rice tale with all the sweaty environs, blood-soaked nightgowns, and raging horniness inherent to Rice's original novel, but make no mistake: above all else (an obviously generous budget, a talented cast, the aforementioned raging horniness), we will be tuning in for that weird little guy immortalized at the top of this page.

If you're unfamiliar with Interview with the Vampire, Bloody Disgusting's got an official synopsis that'll get you all caught up:

"A sensuous, contemporary reinvention of Anne Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (Bailey Bass) epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Chafing at the limitations of life as a Black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat de Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion.
“But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.”

This one premieres via AMC on October 2nd. You should probably get your warthog masks and evening wear dry-cleaned for the occasion.
