If you spent your Labor Day weekend lounging by the pool, manning the grill, or doing anything else that might've kept you offline over the past few days, congratulations: you spent your weekend wisely! That said, you also probably missed the brand-new trailer for Takashi Yamazaki's Godzilla Minus One, which is headed our way in December.
No worries: we're here to help!
Godzilla Minus One is the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film since 2016's Shin Godzilla, and it appears that the latest iteration of everyone's favorite kaiju is rowdier than ever. The destruction glimpsed in this trailer is truly something to see, beautifully rendered and downright terrifying.
Here's an official synopsis:
"In postwar Japan, a new terror rises; Godzilla. Will the devastated people be able to survive… let alone fight back?”
OK, so that's maybe not the most descriptive official synopsis we've ever read, but it'll do for now. When will we learn more about Godzilla Minus One? If you live in Japan, you'll get a look at Yamazaki's film on November 3rd; here in the States, Toho's latest Godzilla film will stomp into theaters on December 1st. From the looks of that trailer, we suspect it'll be worth the wait.
Nothing further to report on Godzilla Minus One at this time, but do stay tuned for further updates between now and the film's arrival in theaters later this year. Plenty more to come!
