Is this the END?

It remains to be seen whether or not evil will truly die tonight but, at the very least, it will be streaming. Halloween Ends, the supposed final entry in the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, is set to arrive in theaters this weekend, concluding not only the new trilogy that kicked off in 2018, but the whole original story John Carpenter started back in 1978. The good news for those who don’t wish to leave the house is that the sequel is also going to be streaming on Peacock, giving you that option.

The film will be streaming on Peacock (the premium version) beginning at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on October 13. Universal Pictures decided that it would be prudent to do a day-and-date release with Halloween Ends, just as they did last year with Halloween Kills. Granted, the pandemic was still more of a factor last year, making the same move with this installment a bit of a surprise. Be that as it may, the choice is now yours as to how you would like to watch Michael and Laurie duke it out one last time.

Also of note, Jame Lee Curtis is back in the pages of FANGORIA and graces the subscriber cover of the latest issue, which is en route to mailboxes as we speak. The issue features a conversation with Curtis, as well as the OG shape, Nick Castle, and the Shape of the new trilogy, James Jude Courtney. As for what to expect from the movie itself? The synopsis reads as follows:

“Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.”

David Gordon Green is back in the director’s chair for this one. Green directed both 2018’s Halloween and Halloween Kills, both of which made a boatload of cash for Blumhouse and Universe. Green is staying in the horror world for a while, too, as he is set to direct a new Exorcist sequel that will kick off a new trilogy in that franchise.

The cast also includes Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell, and Kyle Richards. Green helped pen the screenplay alongside Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, and Danny McBride. Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block serve as producers, with John Carpenter, Curtis, McBride, Green, Ryan Freimann, Ryan Turek, Andrew Golov, Thom Zadra, and Christopher H. Warner serving as executive producers.
