SPEAK NO EVIL (2022)

Ah, an idyllic family vacation, a little bonding, taking in the sights, making new friends...what's the worst that could happen? Well. Plenty. The wide, sweeping shots and beautiful scenery of Speak No Evil nearly lure you into a false sense of security here but the accompanying score never quite lets the viewer feel entirely safe. True crime podcast My Favorite Murder famously preaches "Fuck politeness" as one of their catchphrases for survival, and this movie is precisely why. Politeness and societal niceties can get you into more trouble than they're worth. Better to offend and remain alive than to be polite and dead.

Writer and director of Speak No Evil, Christian Tafdrup, stopped by to chat about his new movie that just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The fears of being a parent and being able to protect one's family factor heavily into Tafdrup's work and we dive in to explore nightmares brought to life on the screen. Stay tuned after the interview for the trailer, check out the full convo below.

Speak No Evil premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and has been acquired by Shudder for a late 2022 release. We'll keep you posted on the release date.
