SIGNIFICANT OTHER Trailer Offers Us Yet Another Reason Not To Go Hiking

Backpacking through a remote patch of forest: still not a good idea.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: going hiking, backpacking, and/or camping seems like one of the worst ideas one could possibly have. You've seen a horror movie before, right? Seen what happens when people lose cell service and find themselves stranded out in the dark with nothing but a few bloodthirsty bears, moonshine-swilling rednecks, and/or vengeful witch spirits to keep them company? Yeah, you know the drill. So why on Earth would you ever head into the woods? Foolish, if you ask me.

And y'know who didn't ask me? Harry (Jake Lacy) and Ruth (Maika Monroe), the lead characters in Dan Berk and Robert Olsen's forthcoming horror film, Significant Other.

Here's the film's first trailer:

Yup, doesn't look like this trip's gonna pan out well for our heroes, but I suppose that's what you get. Even the plot synopsis ("Significant Other follows a young couple ... who take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest,  but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone") knows what's up. Good luck out there, Harry and Ruth!

Significant Other will hold its world premiere at the 2022 New York Comic-Con (where there'll be a post-screening Q&A with the cast and filmmakers), before arriving exclusively on Paramount+ on October 7th. We're excited to give this one a peek once it lands!
