Writers and directors Justin Powell and David Charbonier, the duo that brought us The Djinn, delivers a new tale of terror with The Boy Behind The Door. Their second movie is a horrific tale of child abduction. Two best friends, Bobby (Lonnie Chavis) and Kevin (Ezra Dewey) are abducted on their way home from school. When Bobby manages to escape, he doesn't get very far once he realizes he can't leave Kevin behind. In an interview with FANGORIA for their first movie, The Djinn, Powell said "We love kids in horror: Child’s Play, Jurassic Park, those movies really stuck with us, the kids in those movies. There are many others, too."
Powell and Charbonier showed us what they can do when pitting a kid against a supernatural horror, now we're curious to see what they can do with kids up against the worst kind of monster — creepy humans. Kevin (Dewey) may look familiar, he also starred in Powell and Charbonier's debut feature, The Djinn, battling an ancient, evil supernatural entity.
