Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan is making his directorial debut with Whistler Camp, a horror film set at a gay conversion camp, according to Deadline. Logan’s credits include Alien: Covenant, Skyfall, and Gladiator, and he was the creator of Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, an absolutely vital piece of Gothic horror that, if you haven’t, you should probably go and watch immediately.
Friend of Fango Ryan Turek is the creative executive overseeing the film for Blumhouse, and producers on board include Jason Blum (it’s his house) and Michael Aguilar (Penny Dreadful, Kidding). On the heels of films like Freaky, Knife + Heart and Midnight Kiss, Whistler Camp is poised to be the biggest splash yet in the queer horror space, and that – along with Logan’s bona fides – makes this one to watch.
