"What's your favorite scary (parody) musical?" We're sure it's about to be Scream'd: An Unauthorized Musical Parody!

Playing now through November in Las Vegas, NV, you can watch Sidney and her friends sing, dance, and die to '90s hits from The Backstreet Boys to Britney Spears, No Doubt, Blink 182, and more, all backed by a live band.

The musical is the brainchild of Troy Heard and Brandon Scott Grayson, who also brought The Craft: An Unauthorized Musical Parody to life!

"Five months ago, I typed a title page that said Scream'd, An Unauthorized Musical Parody," said Heard. "I said, I'm going to put this on social media. And if it gets enough engagement within four hours, we'll do the actual show.' And it got it within minutes."

Sharp humor, fun horror, and catchy harmony sprinkle this parody. There's one particular song we found ourselves swooning over. Let's just say Ghostface has a bit of a number – our fangirl number; he dialed it in and slayed!

"There are certain rules one must abide by to survive a scary movie," you'll narrowly escape Ghostface thanks to Randy's charismatic, fourth-wall-breaking narration. Who better to walk us through?

"It's definitely a bigger role than in the movie because he is a wraparound narrator, and there's lots of little references that Troy wrote into the script of a bunch of different movies," said Steffan Scrogan, who plays Randy. "There are some really deep cuts in some of these lines, and if you go see the show, there are some fake movies along the walls to throw people off. They're pretty good Easter eggs if you can find them."

Lizzy Martin is a shy and fierce Sidney, with Ray Winters as a mischievous Billy Loomis, displaying excellent chemistry with Joey Derby, who plays Stu Macher and shares a striking similarity to Matthew Lillard in physical appearance and performance. Katie Marie Jones is a bubbly, sassy spirit as both Casey Becker and Tatum Ruley. Noah Rivera plays an endearing Deputy Dewey Riley, who also happens to be the show's choreographer. Carly Presher is a force on stage, dominating as Gale Weathers through her presence and powerful voice. And Kegan Witzki is basically the one-person chorus of energy and attitude, affectionately referred to as "Everybody Else" in the program.

Depending on where you sit, you could be right in the middle of the action, perhaps even the recipient of a generous popcorn shower. We don't recommend wearing white as you might also get a little blood splatter. Consider it a corn syrup souvenir.

You'll walk away from seeing Scream'd with the satisfaction of experiencing a well-executed parody of a beloved horror movie with a crowd. The production has plenty of heart, and the cast and crew can't rave enough about their director, Troy.

"He's such an amazing director that I swear this town is so lucky to have him," said Katie Marie Jones, "So any chance I get to work with Troy, I'm like, yes. Sign me up. I'll be there in two seconds."

Troy has shared that more horror movie musical parodies are in the works, and we can't wait to see what he does next.

This energetic and entertaining musical will have you saying, "I'll be right back!"

You can catch Scream'd at the Majestic Repertory Theatre in Las Vegas on select days through November 4, 2023. Visit the official Scream'd page for information and tickets.
