The Chainsaw spotlight continues as we highlight our 2022 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards nominees! This week we are celebrating some first-timers in our Best First Feature category. (We've previously showcased Best Wide Release and Best Limited Release in case you missed it!) We want you to make an informed vote so we are spending these next few weeks celebrating and showcasing all of our incredible nominees.

Hopefully, you've had a chance to get caught up on any Best Wide and Limited Release nominees you may have missed. And if you've watched them all, you have time to revisit before casting your vote! Happy viewing and congratulations to all of the wonderful horror makers who fueled our year with (the right kind) of nightmares.

Our nominees for Best First Feature are:

FANGO-ChainsawAwards2022-nominee-Censor.jpg

Censor - Directed by Prano Bailey-Bond - watch Censor now

After viewing a strangely familiar video nasty, Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister's disappearance, embarking on a quest that dissolves the line between fiction and reality. Check out our exclusive Convo X Fango with Censor director Prano Bailey-Bond.

FANGO-ChainsawAwards2022-nominee-MyHeartCantBeat.jpg

My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To - Directed by Jonathan Cuartas - stream now.

Two mysterious siblings find themselves at odds over caring for their frail and sickly younger brother. The things we do for love would have been a stellar alternate tagline/theme song for this tale of family ties and sacrifice.

FANGO-ChainsawAwards2022-nominee-SaintMaud.jpg

Saint Maud - Directed by Rose Glass - click to watch now.

A pious nurse becomes dangerously obsessed with saving the soul of her dying patient. Gracing the cover of our sold-out FANGORIA volume 2 issue #7.

FANGO-ChainsawAwards2022-nominee-TheStylist.jpg

The Stylist - Directed by Jill Gevargizian - book your appointment here.

A lonely hair stylist becomes obsessed with the lives of her clients and descends into murderous madness. As we blur the lines in the "art imitates life" department, this film about a hairstylist with a bloodlust is made by... an actual stylist (no confirmation on the bloodlust bit.) Take a look at our exclusive interview with the cast and crew of The Stylist.

FANGO-ChainsawAwards2022-nominee-TheVigil.jpg

The Vigil - Directed by Keith Thomas - watch now.

A man providing overnight watch to a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community finds himself opposite a malevolent entity. Thomas also has Firestarter on deck, slated for release later this year. FANGORIA volume 2 issue #10 takes us on set for The Vigil.

Dive in, catch up, and enjoy our Best First Feature Nominees! Next week, we are celebrating Best Streaming Premiere Movie!
