Following yesterday’s first look out of Sundance of Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool, producer and distributor NEON have released the first trailer and poster for the upcoming sci-fi thriller.

Starring Mia Goth (Pearl), Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman) and Cleopatra Coleman (The Shadow of the Moon) Infinity Pool follows:

James and Em [who] are enjoying an all-inclusive beach vacation when a fatal accident exposes the resort's perverse subculture of hedonistic tourism, reckless violence, and surreal horrors.

Infinity Pool will be the third feature-length film from Cronenberg, following 2012’s Antiviral and 2020’s Possessor. From the looks of the trailer, Infinity Pool will continue in the director’s thematic style (one that evidently runs in the family), showcasing a series of trippy visuals and the promise of some violent headfuckery.

For its US release, Infinity Pool was originally set to have an NC-17 rating, even after an appeal from NEON to the Classification and Ratings board. The film has since been edited down to an R for 'graphic violence, disturbing material, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use, and some language.'

Infinity Pool will premiere at Sundance next January as part of the film festival’s Midnights Selection. Check out the sinister new trailer here:
