As we close out the year, we're showing some love to the "cool things you may have missed" department. Audible original podcast Catchers meets the criteria. With eight twenty-minute episodes streaming right now, this one is perfect for a binge. Described as a "small-town horror with all the charm of a classic '80s creature feature, updated for the modern era," Catchers stars Billy Gardell (Bob Hearts Abishola) as Collins alongside Herizen Guardiola (American Gods) as Blair.

There’s been a report of a vicious wild dog on the loose. Collins and Blair head to a remote family farm to check it out. But instead of finding one wayward mutt, they’re attacked by an entire pack of blood-thirsty creatures. Are they animals? Aliens? Or something more sinister?
Collins and Blair have never seen eye-to-eye, but they’ll have to learn to work together if they want to survive the night. The future of Buck Lake depends on it.
Catchers creator Ben Rock was the production designer on The Blair Witch Project, (we have him to thank for the iconic "stickman" symbol). Building much of the legend of The Blair Witch (which became the website's content), he also wrote Curse of the Blair Witch and Shadow of the Blair Witch for SyFy. It's safe to say Ben knows a thing or two about horror.
Written and created by Ben Rock (Alien Raiders) and Bob DeRosa (Killers), directed by Ben Rock, with an original score by Steve Moore from the band Zombi. The all-star voice cast also includes Nicki Micheaux (In The Dark), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), David Patrick Kelley (The Warriors), and Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker in the PS4 Spider-Man video game).
