We've got a special treat for you this morning in the form of your first look at the Malum poster. This is being described as "a bold and expanded reimagining of the 2014 horror cult classic, Last Shift." The reimagining is written by Anthony DiBlasi, Scott Poiley  and directed by Di Blasi. Welcome Villian Films is bringing their reimagining to theaters later this month. For now, let's take a look at the official synopsis.

"On a search to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding her father’s death, a newly appointed police officer, Jessica Loren (Jessica Sula) is assigned to the last shift in a decommissioned police station where a notoriously vicious cult saw their demise years prior. The lone officer at the station, she soon finds herself barraged by terrifying paranormal events, and in the process, is taken on a journey during which she learns the shocking truth behind her family’s entanglement with a demented cult leader. Malum takes the premise of the 2014 festival hit and flips it on its head, thrusting viewers into an unrelenting, adrenaline-fueled, bloody cult nightmare."

And now, as promised, we've got your first look at the official Malum poster.

What have you done to its eyes!? Alright, well it definitely looks like the sort of image we'll be seeing in dark corners and piles of clothes for the foreseeable future, so thanks for that! We recently shared producer Dan Clifton's assurances that this is far from a shot-for-shot remake, “From day one, the goal was always to produce something that paid homage to the original but broke new ground in a much bigger way, making it feel less like a remake and more like a reimagining."

The folks behind the recent Hellraiser FX are handling the special effects on this one, so we know we'll be in good hands with RussellFX on that front. (You can see some sweet BTS shots of that in the upcoming issue of FANGORIA.) Luckily we don't have much longer to wait, the trailer for Malum premiers tonight at midnight (Pacific Time) and has officially been set for a March 31 release date.
