Consecration

Consecration, the upcoming religious horror from Triangle and Black Death director Christopher Smith will hit theaters from February 10, Entertainment Weekly reported exclusively today.

The plot synopsis for the nunnery-set terror, which stars Jena Malone (The Ruins, The Neon Demon), reads as follows;

"After the suspicious death of her brother, a priest, Grace (Malone) goes to the Mount Saviour Convent in Scotland to find out what really happened. Once there, she uncovers murder, sacrilege, and a disturbing truth about her own past.”

Danny Huston (American Horror Story: Coven), Janet Suzman (Labyrinth), Thoren Ferguson (Matriach) and Will Keen (The Crown) also star.

In conversation with EW, director Smith revealed that he finds 'an inherent strangeness' to religion, which inspired him to create Consecration, which he hopes "to be the scariest [of his films] yet.”

Consecration will also be available to stream digitally on Shudder from IFC Midnight on March 3. Check out the hugely creepy trailer and poster below while you wait:
