Fourteen years after its release, Bryan Bertino's The Strangers can frequently be found on just about every "best of" list pertaining to the horror genre. Case in point, Shudder's 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments Of All Time. And there's good reason for this. Bertino preyed upon our fears, invading our sanctuary, bringing the horror into our homes via home invasion by way of a faceless trio of assailants, giving a sinister new meaning to "Because you were home."
We got to chat with Bertino about this classic ahead of its upcoming retrospective screening at The Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX. The Strangers will be screening Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the historic (and haunted?) Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX with an in-person Q&A with Bryan Bertino followed by a screening of Re-Animator. For more details and tickets go here. In the meantime, (and if you can't make it to Austin for this epic event) check out our full interview below, and find out answers to our burning questions, like "Why 'Is Tamara here?'"
