Sony's State of Play event unleashed a slew of new trailers last night, including our best look yet at Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake and an awesome new trailer for Judas, the latest game from the team behind the original Bioshock. Also included in the show's lineup: a massive, nine-minute trailer for Hideo Kojima's highly-anticipated Death Stranding sequel, which is now known as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

It looks bananas.

As you can see, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is very much a Hideo Kojima game: all the weird world building from the first Death Stranding seems to be ramped up here (George Miller with a cat-dragon perched on his shoulder, Norman Reedus traveling around with a talking puppet, Troy Baker's resurrected character now looking like the Joker, you name it), which is great news for anyone who revels in the bonkers details of each new Kojima title.

In addition to Miller, Reedus and Baker, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach also stars Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Nicolas Winding Refn. Here's an official plot synopsis, should you require one:

Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam — with companions by his side — sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected?

While a specific release date was not announced for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, we do know that it's due to arrive in 2025, which gives us plenty of time to finally get around to finishing our playthrough of the first game. Stay tuned for further details on Kojima's latest as they roll in, folks! The above trailer is likely just tip-of-the-iceberg stuff.
