There's no denying it: Emma Tammi's Five Nights at Freddy's is one of the year's biggest hits. Tammi and company turned their $20M production budget into a $280M+ blockbuster, with animatronics designed by the Jim Henson Creature Shop and a cast comprised of some of our favorite actors (including Matthew Lillard, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Josh Hutcherson). Fans of the Scott Cawthon video game series that inspired the film really embraced Tammi's adaptation, and now it's headed to home video.

According to the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting, Five Nights at Freddy's will hit 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD next month (just in time for Christmas!), with a trio of brand-new bonus features designed to take you further into the world that Tammi, her production designers, and the Jim Henson Creature Shop whipped created for the film.

Here's what those look like:

  • FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S: From Game to Big Screen – Feel the frights of Freddy Fazbear’s come alive as the film recreates the game’s world with immersive environments and wild surprises that’ll haunt longtime fans and newcomers alike.
  • Killer Animatronics – Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy transform from cute and cuddly into creepy and killer through a combination of costumed performers and cutting-edge puppetry.
  • FIVE NIGHTS in Three DimensionsFive Nights at Freddy's takes a two-dimensional game and turns it into a three-dimensional nightmare.

For those who've somehow remained unaware of the Five Nights at Freddy's phenomenon: Tammi's film revolves around a security guard (Hutcherson) who gets hired to work the night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Should be a cakewalk...except for the fact that the Pizzeria is home to a cadre of bloodthirsty animatronics, and may have something to do with the deaths of five children several decades prior.

Nothing further to report on Five Nights at Freddy's at this time, but given the runaway success of the first film, we're expecting a sequel to be announced any day now. Stay tuned to find out if that particular prediction turns out to be true, and don't forget to pick up Five Nights at Freddy's when it hits 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on December 12th (it'll be available digitally on November 28th, for those of you who can't wait)!
