Jed Shepherd, producer, writer (of 2020's scariest movie Host and 2021's found footage nightmare Dashcam) and frequent Rob Savage collaborator is taking a seat in the director's chair with Flashback, a yoga-themed home invasion horror short headed to Netflix this Friday, October 20.

Starring Host's Jemma Moore, Flashback follows a yoga teacher whose life flashes before her eyes during a deadly home invasion. Before time runs out she must use the flashback to race back in time and save the man she loves.

Described by Shepherd as a "gateway horror", Flashback features monster design from Siren Head creator Trevor Henderson, as well as invaluable input from Evil Dead legend Sam Raimi, who acted as Shepherd's mentor throughout.

Speaking exclusively to FANGORIA, Shepherd expressed his excitement for the project and his joy at working with Raimi and Henderson:

Flashback was a complete joy to work on. Netflix let me write and direct something that's so very close to my heart and I'll never forget that. I got to work with my friends & family and some of the coolest crew in the world. Having Trevor Henderson design our creature and then bringing Dr. Bones to life made me so happy. Throughout this whole process, I was helped by my mentor Sam Raimi who was always there to bounce ideas off. I hope everyone enjoys this little gateway horror film and remember: I love you more than chips.

Alongside Moore, the rest of the cast includes The Creator’s Amar Chadha-Patel, and Haley Bishop.

Sharing the news via Twitter/X, Shepherd gushed of his time working with "the loveliest people I know" and shared a little teaser clip:

Make sure you're seated for Flashback on Netflix this Friday!
