Child’s Play fans who enjoy crisp, high-definition physical media are in for a treat this summer. The fine folks at Scream Factory have announced that all four of the later sequels in the killer doll series are coming to 4K Ultra HD. This includes Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky. The only potential downside? This has the potential to give your bank account a healthy little kick.

The movies will all be available individually beginning July 25. Currently, they are listed for $36.98 each. While the bonus features for each respective film have yet to be announced, Shout Factory and Scream Factory tend to go hard with their releases on that front, so expect nothing less in this case. The films will also come with an exclusive poster when ordered through the company’s website. Where the wallet-punching comes in is with the four-movie collections that are available.

For $223.98, fans can get all four films along with a retro prism sticker, an exclusive trading card set, and an enamel pin set to go with the slipcovers and the posters. There is also a $149.99 option that leaves out the pins and the trading cards. What’s more, the company has already released Child’s Play, Child’s Play 2, and Child’s Play 3 on 4K. So completionists amongst you can now own all seven of the films in glorious ultra HD.

This franchise is pretty unique in and amongst other slashers. Creator Don Mancini has done one heck of a job keeping everything together ever since the killer doll first graced the silver screen in 1988. Amazingly enough, the continuity has never been rebooted, even extending into the currently airing Chucky TV series, which is gearing up for its third season as we speak. Yes, there was the 2019 remake, but that was more “in addition to” rather than a full reboot. Also, not for nothing, but Curse and Cult are remarkably great for sixth and seventh entries in a horror franchise, in my humble opinion - particularly ones that were produced direct-to-video. It remains surprisingly relevant and of a certain quality for a franchise that hasn’t had a theatrically released movie for nearly twenty years. We love to see it.

Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky all arrive on 4K on July 25. Pre-orders are live now via ShoutFactory.com.
