Takashi Yamazaki's Godzilla Minus One hits theaters this weekend (read our exclusive interview with him here), and by most accounts it's the best Godzilla movie in years, a sweeping, jaw-dropping dose of kaiju action that all but demands to be seen on the big screen. But perhaps you remain unconvinced. Perhaps you are dragging your heels on going to the theater this weekend. Perhaps you need one last trailer to really push you over the edge.
Good thing Toho just dropped one.
Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus One sees an already devastated postwar Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla. What happens when a disarmed and defenseless country finds itself staring down the barrel of a Godzilla attack? Probably nothing good, but we're excited to see how it all plays out!
Yamazaki's film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki, and features music from Naoki Sato. It's the first domestic Japanese Godzilla film since 2016's beloved Shin Godzilla, and currently holds a gigantic 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nothing further to report on Godzilla Minus One at this time, but stay tuned for more kaiju-related updates as they roll in.
