Japanese horror fans rejoice - writer/director Keishi Kondo, of 2022's acclaimed psychological body horror New Religion, is continuing the eerie tale later in 2024 with Neu Mirrors, and a brand new trailer today teases that we're in for a whole neu world of fear.

Since premiering at London's FrightFest back in 2022, New Religion, currently streaming over on SCREAMBOX, has helped to beckon in an exciting new vision of the J-horror genre, which has lain somewhat dormant since the early '00s glory days of Ring and Ju-On. The film starred Kaho Seto as Miyabi, a call girl mourning the death of her young daughter, and one of her clients, the mysterious Oka (newcomer Satoshi Oka), who spends his time photographing every inch of Miyabi's body.

Starring River's Saori, New Religion's Satoshi Oka and Daiki Nunami, and Shin Godzilla's Bob Werley, Neu Mirrors (which is currently in post-production) takes place in the mysterious world of New Religion, and follows:

A call-girl-driver Aizawa (Nunami) is a man who loses consciousness in the apartment of a strange man Oka (Oka) who takes pictures. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a room where he doesn't know. Then, he experiences a weird phenomenon.

Further exciting news on the New Religion universe came earlier this year, when Kondo announced that a further spin-off, titled Neu Forests, was also in development and set to star Audition's terrifying Eihi Shiina.
