The legendary Joe Dante (Gremlins, Piranha, The Howling) and the equally legendary Roger Corman (The Pit and the Pendulum, The Masque of the Red Death) are teaming up to reboot Corman's famed 1960 horror comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, Deadline have reported exclusively today.

With Dante in the director's chair, a script by Charles S. Haas (Gremlins 2: The New Batch) and Corman producing alongside Emmy-nominated producer Brad Krevoy, the reboot is reportedly intended to jumpstart a whole new franchise.

Starring a young Jack Nicholson, The Little Shop of Horrors followed a florist who grows a man-eating plant named Audrey Jr. After becoming a cult classic, the movie spawned a 1982 musical adaptation which was then adapted into Frank Oz's film version, starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin and Jim Belushi, in 1986. A planned remake starring Taron Egerton, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Billy Porter was cancelled in 2022.

Further news including casting or release info has yet to be revealed, but we'll bring you all the updates on Little Shop of Halloween Horrors as and when we get them!
