One of the many films we're curious about at this year's Tribeca Film Festival is Joe Lynch's Suitable Flesh, an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Thing on the Doorstep" starring some of our favorite people (including Barbara Crampton, Heather Graham, Bruce Davison, and Johnathon Schaech), but until now we weren't entirely sure when everyone would get to see it. This summer? This fall? Early next year?

Luckily, a new report over at Deadline has an update on that front:

"RLJE Films and Shudder have picked up worldwide rights to the erotic horror thriller Suitable Flesh, starring Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Pic will hit theaters, VOD and digital later this year, with its streaming debut on Shudder to follow."

Alright, so we don't have an exact date yet, but this will certainly tide us over until then. H.P. Lovecraft adaptations come along only once in a while, and to date none of them have been directed by noted madman Joe Lynch (that Lynch has brought in Crampton, star of two great Lovecraft adaptations from director Stuart Gordon, is just the Eldritch cherry on top of this particular sundae). To say we're excited to see Suitable Flesh is a massive understatement, and we're thrilled to hear it already has a home.

Here's how Deadline's describing the plot:

"Based on the short story 'The Thing on the Doorstep' by H.P. Lovecraft, Suitable Flesh follows psychiatrist Elizabeth Derby (Graham), who becomes obsessed with helping a young patient suffering extreme personality disorder. But her desire to help leads her into dark occult danger as she tries to escape a horrific fate."

Nothing further to report on Suitable Flesh at this time, but rest assured we'll be bringing you further updates on this one (and, hopefully soon, a trailer) just as soon as they land in our inbox. Stay tuned for those, gang!
