Good news for anyone who wasn't able to catch André Øvredal's The Last Voyage of the Demeter in theaters: the film is now available to rent ($19.99) or purchase ($24.99) digitally, on whichever platform you prefer doing your digital shopping/renting on!

For those who haven't been paying attention, Øvredal's film is a feature-length adaptation of a single chapter from Bram Stoker's Dracula, and recounts the doomed voyage of the Demeter, the merchant ship that transported literature's most famous bloodsucker from Carpathia to London. As you might expect, good ol' Dracula gets a bit peckish while making the journey, putting the Demeter's crew in a very dangerous position, indeed.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter starts FANGORIA fave David Dastmalchian, Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff, and (last, but certainly not least) the great Javier Botet as Dracula.

Here's a trailer, should you need the reminder:

Directed by The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark director André Øvredal, The Last Voyage of the Demeter was inspired in no small part by Ridley Scott's Alien, and was recently featured on the cover of FANGORIA Magazine. We were big fans of the claustrophobic, blood-soaked nightmare that Øvredal conjured here, and are eager for more Fango readers to get a chance to see it!

Nothing further to report on The Last Voyage of the Demeter at this time, but do stay tuned for more on whatever turns out to be André Øvredal's next project (fingers crossed for that long-gestating Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark sequel)!
