This morning, Variety reports that Disney's release schedule is undergoing a major overhaul, with a ton of films - everything from various new installments in the MCU to the next Avatar movie - getting brand-new release dates. Some of 'em, like the highly-anticipated Deadpool 3 (which will somehow bring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine into the MCU fold), will be arriving sooner than expected. The others are arriving later and, in some cases, much later than expected.

The one we're focused on (naturally) is Blade, which will find Mahershala Ali taking over the role that Wesley Snipes made iconic. The MCU Blade has already experienced several setbacks on its way to the screen (most recently, it hired a new director towards the end of last year), and was originally set to release on September 6th of 2024. According to Variety's report, the film will now be along on February 14th, 2025.

While we don't know much about the plot of the new Blade, we do know that - in addition to Ali - the film will also star reigning horror queen Mia Goth and the always-welcome Delroy Lindo. This iteration of the film is being directed by French filmmaker Yann Demange (White Boy Rick, '71) with a screenplay by Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Michael Starrbury and True Detective's Nic Pizzolatto.

Nothing further to report on Blade at this time, but stay tuned for further updates as they roll in. We've got plenty of time between now and Valentine's Day, 2025.
