Emma Tammi's Five Nights at Freddy's is just around the corner on October 27 - and to get you in the mood for a perfect spooky season watch, Blumhouse and Universal Pictures have today released a new “look inside” featurette video that gives us a glimpse into just how those creepy animatronics are being brought to life.

Starring Scream king Matthew Lillard, Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games franchise), Elizabeth Lail (YouMack & Rita), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have A Ghost, 9-1-1), Piper Rubio (Holly & IvyUnstable) and Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot, Fried Green Tomatoes), Five Nights at Freddy's is based on Scott Cawthon's terrifying indie horror game of the same name. The film's plot synopsis reads as follows:

Can you survive five nights? The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse— the producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man— brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen. The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

The legendary Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is handling the monster animatronics, making Chica, Bonnie, Foxy and of course Mr Freddy Fazbear himself as terrifying on the big screen as they are in the game. The teaser also features unique insights from Jessica Weiss, Jade Kindar-Martin and Kevin Foster, the actors bringing Chica, Bonnie and Freddy to life respectively.

We've also got Lillard teasing that the movie has "a lot of jumpscares", while Tammi lets us know that Five Nights at Freddy's is the "ultimate popcorn movie." Powerhouse producer Jason Blum promises that Five Nights at Freddy's speaks to the (ardently passionate!) game fanbase, which will surely come as good news to those fans awaiting the confirmation that this may or may not be the start of a new Blumhouse trilogy...

Trilogy or not, we'll be seated come October 27 - popcorn in hand and ready for plenty of jumpscares. Enjoy the teaser below!:
