Lovers of '80s horror and board games have something to look forward to, as the popular tabletop game Mixtape Massacre has a brand new expansion on the way. The Time Warp expansion recently launched on Kickstarter and within two hours, it was fully funded. So the time-traversing addition will indeed be coming in the future. Now? It's onto stretch goals for game players to look forward to.
As of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has amassed nearly $21,000 - well beyond the original $10,000 goal. What does that mean for players of the game? It means several stretch goals have been met, including spot printing for all purple on the box, five additional supplies, and a slasher card that happens to be a raptor named Colorado. In short, lots of good are on the way for the expansion. As for what to expect? The folks from Bright Light released the following description:
“Mixtape Massacre: Time Warp is the brand new expansion in the long-running Tales from Tall Oaks expansion series. It is also the final entry in this 1980's six-part collection. In this brand new expansion for Escape from Tall Oaks (with additional components for use with Mixtape Massacre) Time Warp has players work together as you travel back and forth through time in an attempt to clean up, or mess up the Tall Oaks' timeline. During your travels, you'll be chased by new slashers of Tall Oaks past and future while also trying to not cause time paradoxes that could tear apart the town and game. With new survivors and slashers, new modes of play, and multiple possibilities for endings, prepare for the time of your life... or death.”
Mixtape Massacre was originally launched in 2016 and serves as a love letter to '80s horror. In short, 2 to 6 players terrorize the town of Tall Oaks and compete in an over-the-top killing spree. Collect kills and duke it out with other slashers. There have been several expansions since the original release, including Hallow's Eve and Lockdown. So there's no shortage of ways to keep things fresh for those who enjoy the blood-soaked delights the game offers, with more coming soon.
