Following on from last week's mysterious and ominous teaser from NEON, the genre giants have today provided some more nightmare fuel with another video titled 'Remember to say your prayers.' (seen below)
While the title of the movie being teased still hasn't been revealed, more hints are dropped that give us a fighting chance at a good guess. As we previously reported, it could be a number of upcoming NEON horror titles such as Tilman Singer's Cuckoo or the Sydney Sweeney-starring Immaculate - however we believe that the most likely candidate is Oz Perkins' Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage.
The synopsis for Longlegs reads as follows:
“FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”
So far, both teasers have hinted at serial murders (a 911 call in the first, an FBI investigation in this one, not to mention the terrifying blink-and-you'll-miss-them crime scene shots), a certain religious angle with talk of prayers and veiled figures (Longlegs is said to have cult elements) and, of course, the mysterious code that pops up at the end of both that gives off real Zodiac vibes.
If this is Longlegs, then we could be closer than ever to a release date - trailers have allegedly started to hit theaters, so it's only a matter of time before we get to see the real deal and have our guesses confirmed or denied. Fingers (and legs...?) crossed!
