John Hyams' SICK is looking very sharp, indeed.

The good folks over at Collider dropped a brand-new clip from John Hyams' Sick on us today, and it contains all the vibes you might expect from a horror film with Kevin Williamson's name attached to it: you've got your teens, alone in a house; you've got someone banging on the front door; you've got your kitchen knife deployed for protection.

Standard-issue for the genre? Absolutely. But still, this thing looks intense...

Oh, yeah, buddy. That's some good tension, right there.

You may have noticed the conspicuous use of a COVID facemask in the scene above. Entirely intentional! Apparently, Williamson whipped up a pandemic slasher story this time around, and we're curious to see find out what that element might do upon being threaded into the standard machinations of a slasher plot.

Speaking of, here's an official plot synopsis:

“As the pandemic steadily brings the world to a halt, Parker and her best friend Miri decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone – or so they think.”

This month, Sick is screening as part of TIFF's "Midnight Madness" lineup, and will also screen in Austin, TX during this year's Fantastic Fest. If it's every bit as intense as that clip above, we're willing to bet it'll make for one helluva watch. Stay tuned for more on Sick as further updates become available!
