Heading to the legendary Sundance Film Festival later this month is Krazy House, a bizarre action-horror-comedy from director/writer team Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil, and starring Shaun of the Dead's Nick Frost - and if today's brand new trailer is anything to go by, we're in for a wild ride with this one.

The genre-bending Krazy House also stars Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, last year's Perpetrator), Jan Bijvoet, Gaite Jansen, Walt Klink and Kevin Connolly.

A hilarious plot synopsis, via SlashFilm, reads as follows:

Set in the 1990s, Krazy House is about a religious homemaker named Bernie (Frost) who discovers that the workmen hired to make home repairs are actually Russian criminals planning on looting the house and robbing them of whatever they can get their hands on. Now, Bernie and his family are stuck in a dangerous situation, forced to rip apart their own home looking for treasure, but there will be plenty of bleakly hilarious moments of levity as Bernie slowly loses his mind trying to keep his family safe.

Krazy House will be the English-language debut of Haars and van der Kui, who are best known for the black comedy New Kids Turbo. In a statement to Variety, the pair described production on Krazy House as "...a dream come true working with this amazing talented cast on our most insane movie yet", while Frost called it "...a completely bonkers project to be a part of and I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it.”

The trailer is full of '90s sitcom vibes that slowly escalate into some truly explosive chaos. See for yourself below, and if you're lucky enough to be heading to Sundance from January 18–28, make sure you don't miss Krazy House:
