The Renegade Film Festival returns with its first live event under the new name. This March, the historic Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square in Atlanta, GA will host six feature films and seventy-three short films over the course of the three-day event. Festival highlights include screenings of the Monster Squad documentary Wolfman's Got Nards co-written and directed by Andre Gower, with Gower in person for a special Q&A. Blumhouse/Universal slasher/bodyswap hit Freaky starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton will screen with writer, Michael Kennedy in person for a post-screening Q&A.

In addition to screenings, there are 23 combined short and feature screenplays whose writers are being celebrated as finalists, with winners announced March 5, 2022 at the awards ceremony, hosted by festival director Vanessa Wright and writer/director Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell, Texas Chainsaw, Secret Santa). 76% of the films screening this year are directed by a woman, BIPOC, or member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Wright says, “Representation matters, visibility matters; we are learning and we are growing and constantly evolving, and we invite you to be a part of the revolution."
