It has been 27 years since you and your friends braved Pennywise. You promised to return once he does. He has. And now it's up to you to defeat him!
Following the success of Escape IT, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and Egan Escape Productions have joined forces to bring horror fans and thrill seekers a new escape room experience based on the sequel, IT Chapter Two.
You and several friends or fellow guests will have to relive the events of IT Chapter Two as you solve puzzles and riddles to advance and defeat Pennywise. With every clue, you'll activate a surprise. This highly interactive experience spans over 30,000 square feet full of cutting-edge special effects, custom animatronics, and live actors to make you feel like you're a part of the film.
You'll explore the Losers Clubhouse, the Jade of the Orient restaurant, Beverly's Apartment, Pennywise's den, and more than 16 interactive rooms.
If you're a fan of the movie, you'll beam with excitement as you approach the building, located off Symphony Parkway and Martin Luther King Blvd. in Las Vegas, instantly recognizing the iconic imagery of the town of Derry. From the most prominent pieces to the smallest detail, artists and horror enthusiasts crafter this elaborate experience to transport you directly into the film! And they succeed.
This attraction is truly a feat of artistry. But how does this all come together?
"We have several different teams that come in and handle different parts of putting the experience together, then we have our in-house team that handles a lot of the gameplay, the puzzles, and everything from the idea that Jason [Egan] comes up with," said Joey Simpson, a jack of all trades and the Experience Designer for the attraction. "Our biggest thing with these escape rooms is ensuring full immersion. So, we always want to make sure from the second that you arrive on the premises to the second you leave, you feel like you're in the storyline."
He added that putting this together is a complex process because it's not a haunted house, and it's not just an escape room – it's a complete experience! There's a delicate balance, so guests still feel challenged but have time to enjoy the scenery.
"We want you to solve puzzles and play games, but we also want you to enjoy the sets and everything else, so it is very time-consuming to get it just right!"
The building is also home to the IT Chapter One experience, which opened in 2022, where you will be chased by Pennywise, narrowly escaping with your lives. As if there wasn't enough to enjoy, you exit each experience into a sizable carnival game room and a large merchandise store. The space includes plenty of arcade games, clothing, drinkware, the official IT coffee by Dead Sled Coffee, costumes (including a Pennywise costume for your dog - Puppywise), and an array of unique collectibles and memorabilia.
However, our favorite bonus to the experience is the in-house museum full of screen-used props from IT Chapter Two! You can get an up-close look at the bikes the children rode in the film, the letter from Stanley, and Bill Skarsgård's authentic Pennywise costume.
