Deadline broke the exciting news of the thirteen actors who will be cast in the upcoming Horror Noire anthology film. The Shudder exclusive will feature six stories presented in a feature format, centering on Black horror created by Black writers and directors. Check out this incredible list of talent, including lots of genre favorites: Rachel True (The Craft), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer), Luke James (The Chi), Erica Ash (Scary Movie V), Malcolm Barrett (Pooka Lives!), Sean Patrick Thomas (Halloween: Resurrection) Brandon Mychal Smith (Get On Up), Peter Stormare, Tone Bell (The Flash), Lavell Crawford (Hubie Halloween), Nathaniel Logan McIntyre (Barry) Lenora Crichlow (Black Mirror) and the one and only Tony Todd (Candyman, Hell Fest).

The lineup of writers involved with this project is a real treat, the newly announced cast list is another layer of excitement, and the list of consultants is equally as stellar. It all began with a book. A book that spawned a documentary, that gave birth to this anthology movie. Author of the novel Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1890s to Present, Dr. Robin R. Means Coleman will be consulting on the project. Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror documentary producers Ashlee Blackwell, Phil Nobile Jr. and Kelly Ryan will also be on board as consultants. Earlier this week we shared Comic-Con's deep dive with Horror Noire writers Tananarive Due, Steven Barnes, Shernold Edwards, and Victor LaValle.

Check out the full breakdown of included stories and casting in the original Deadline excerpt below:

Brandt and McIntyre will appear in “The Lake,” written by husband-and-wife writing duo Steven Barnes and Tananarive Due; James will appear in ”Daddy,” written by Victor LaValle ; Smith will appear in “Brand of Evil,” written by Ezra C. Daniels; Ash, Stormare, Bell and Crawford will appear in “Sundown,” written by Al Letson; Crichlow and Thomas will appear in “Bride Before You,” written by Shernold Edwards ; and Barrett, True and Todd will appear in “Fugue State,” written by Barnes and Due.

We cannot wait to see what this incredibly talented team of actors, writers and directors create. Horror Noire premieres exclusively on Shudder this October. Check out Dr. Robin R.
