Horror fans who subscribe to the Max streaming service (formerly HBO Max) are about to get access to some AMC shows, free of charge. Well, at least no more than you’re already paying. As reported by Variety, Max will begin streaming several AMC+ shows at the beginning of September through the end of October in a bit of cross-promotion for the companies. No word on whether or not either company is paying for the privilege, but the whole thing is being described as mutually beneficial. For you, dear reader, it means new shows on a major streaming service.

As far as straight-up horror goes, Fear the Walking Dead (seasons 1-7), Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire (season 1) and A Discovery of Witches (seasons 1-3) will be available on Max. On the horror-adjacent side of things, we have Killing Eve (seasons 1-4) and Ride With Norman Reedus (seasons 1-5), which features The Walking Dead star as its host. Dark Winds (season 1) and Gangs of London (seasons 1-2) round out the list.

At a time when there are far too many streaming services to keep up with, moments like this are welcome. Sure, it’s probably just a ploy to try and get people to subscribe to AMC+ but it still means, at least for a couple of months, Max subscribers are getting more bang for their buck. Meredith Gertler, Warner Bros. Discovery’s EVP of global content strategy, planning and analysis, had this to say:

“Subscribers turn to Max to find a deep and diverse selection of stories for the whole household. The AMC+ collection pop-up is an excellent example of how we can use innovative strategies to add value to our content offering.”

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, had this to add:

“AMC Networks makes great shows, and our goal is to bring these shows to as many people as possible, in ways that best serve viewers. This promotional arrangement with Warner Bros. Discovery is a terrific opportunity to serve up some of our most popular and critically acclaimed programming to millions of Max subscribers in the U.S. for two full months.”

For what it’s worth, AMC+ does have a fair amount to offer horror fans. For one, AMC owns Shudder, which is the best streaming service on the market for lovers of the genre. That aside, they are home to the entire Walking Dead universe, with upcoming spin-offs like The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will stream. There are also other Anne Rice adaptations, such as Mayfair Witches. Somewhat sneakily, a good genre destination. Max subscribers will be getting a taste of that soon.

Stream these shows on Max beginning September 1.
