It's been a little while since we heard more about the Street Trash remake from Fried Barry's Ryan Kruger, but the director has today shared a gloriously goopy new poster, encouraging us to 'melt the rich.'

Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting, SCREAMBOX and genre titans Vinegar Syndrome have teamed up to give J. Michael Muro's 1987 cult classic a reboot for the modern day, and late last month it was reported that Terrifier sales agentThe Coven had boarded sales on the gloopy comedy horror.

Previously, Variety reported that Kruger's reboot will stay true to the plot, but also "expounds the gore to create a metaphor for something much larger." Kruger expanded:

“Our reimagining of Street Trash takes place in Cape Town, South Africa where the growing divide between rich and poor has changed the world as we know it [...] I was a huge fan of the original Street Trash when I was a kid, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce a whole new generation to the melted gonzo goodness that made the original such a classic.”

Bloody Disgusting previously let us know that production was taking place in various locations around Cape Town, and that the film is shot entirely on glorious 35mm.

Street Trash will be released as a SCREAMBOX Original later this year, although at the time of writing, a specific date has not been set, but you know we'll be seated and ready whenever it is. Here's the full poster in all it's maniacal, melty goodness, courtesy of Kruger via Twitter/X!
