Deadline just dropped a sprawling new interview with Terrifier 3 filmmaker Damien Leone and returning franchise star Lauren LaVera, and it's something of a treasure trove of fun facts for Art the Clown enthusiasts. For instance, did you know that Terrifier 3 will bring back Chris Jericho, who appeared in a post-credits scene at the end of Terrifier 2? Or that Terrifier 3 is currently in pre-production, and will go in front of cameras in early February? Good stuff!

Perhaps the most intriguing revelation contained therein, however, is an exchange that occurs at the very end of Deadline's interview. When asked what he'll tackle next, Leone says:

"[Terrifier 3] is definitely my next one to shoot. I’ve also had a movie in development with Ghost House Pictures, Sam Raimi’s production company. They reached out to me after the success of Terrifier 2, and we’ve had a lot of meetings, and they have one of my original horror ideas in development that they really want to get off the ground. So, that’s been fun, a really fun collaborative process with that team.
There are some other things. I might have the opportunity to write and direct one of my favorite exploitation films from the ’80s. It’s not a horror film, but it is an action sort of thriller revenge film from the ’80s. That would be a dream come true."

Damien Leone joining forces with Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures certainly has our attention; from the way this is worded, it's unclear whether Ghost House is developing a film based on one of Leone's ideas or if they're developing one of his ideas for him to direct, but it's exciting news either way. Also exciting: the idea of Leone remaking an '80s action thriller/revenge film. That sounds like the sort of genre Leone could do something very interesting with, indeed.

But again, he's got Terrifier 3 on deck for the time being, and the making and release of that film will likely keep him busy for some time to come. Head on over to Deadline to read the rest of their interview with Leone, and do stay tuned for further updates on his next project(s), including the highly-anticipated Terrifier 3, as they roll in.
