Eli Roth's Thanksgiving has been a long time coming. Based on the faux trailer that Roth created for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse, this holiday-themed slasher finally hits theaters next month, over a decade and half after being teased in that 2007 film (which leaves Edgar Wright and Rob Zombie to catch up with Don't and Werewolf Women of the SS, respectively; we are not holding our breath).

Tomorrow, Sony will drop the film's very first trailer, but in the meantime we've got the first Thanksgiving poster, which shows off a bit of the film's location (Plymouth, MA) and villain, seen below in pilgrim attire and wielding a formidable looking axe:

The official plot synopsis for Thanksgiving is as follows:

"After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”

This being a slasher, we'd been wondering what horrible, small town incident might result in someone dressing up like the Witchfinder General and going after their fellow townsfolk with a variety of murder instruments, and a tragic "Black Friday riot" sounds just about perfect. Now we just need to know what to call this slasher; perhaps that'll be revealed in tomorrow's trailer.

Thanksgiving stars Gina Gershon, Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Milo Manheim, Nell Verlaque, Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman, and will hit theaters on November 17th. Stay tuned for further updates on this one between now and then, and definitely make sure to check back tomorrow for the first Thanksgiving trailer!
