At long last, Showtime has revealed the first official trailer for The Curse, a "genre-bending" new series starring Nathan Fielder (The Rehearsal, Nathan For You), Emma Stone (The Favourite), and Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer).

Details on this series have been very hard to come by ever since it was announced, and while this newly-released trailer lays out what seems to be the general premise (a married couple who host a home renovation show get cursed), we're still not entirely sure how to classify The Curse - is it a horror series? A horror-comedy? Something else entirely?

Give it a watch and see what you think:

The trailer is accompanied by a press release that's similarly tight-lipped as to which specific genre The Curse might belong to, only saying that it's "genre-bending:"

"Co-created and executive produced by Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder, THE CURSE is a genre-bending series that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show. The series stars Emma Stone, Fielder and Safdie. Guest stars include Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, Emmy® nominee Corbin Bernsen and Constance Shulman."

So, when do we get to see it? Depends on where you live and where you plan on watching it! According to the press release, The Curse "will premiere on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan on Friday, November 10, before making its on-air debut on SHOWTIME on Sunday, November 12, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and have its world premiere tonight at the 2023 New York Film Festival on Thursday, October 12, screening the first three episodes."

We're big fans of everyone involved here, and while we're not 100% certain that The Curse will ultimately prove to be horror-centric enough to warrant further coverage here at FANGORIA, we're damn curious to find out. Stay tuned for further updates as they roll in, folks!
