Good news for fans of good things: Shudder's The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will kick off its sure-to-be-spectacular sixth season this Friday, with an all-new special honoring the late, great Roger Corman!

Says so right here in this press release we just received:

"The season kicks off with a special, The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman, followed by all-new watch parties every other Friday at 9pm. The episodes will also be available on demand on Shudder and AMC+ each Sunday following the Friday broadcast premiere.
Recorded live from Las Vegas, Joe Bob celebrates legendary filmmaker Roger Corman’s first 70 years in Hollywood with The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman, featuring guests of honor Roger and Julie Corman - and a surprise visit from one of Roger’s oldest friends and collaborators, Bruce Dern. After the special, The Last Drive-In continues with Joe Bob’s signature movie watch parties on a biweekly schedule, featuring single feature spotlights and surprises."

Yes, this Friday we're getting Joe Bob's The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman, and thereafter the show will resume its usual schedule of watch parties every other Friday night. It's hard to believe that we're now six seasons into this show (time flies when you're having fun, I suppose), but it's nice to know that while many other things are falling apart, we can still rely on Joe Bob, Darcy and the gang to make our Friday evenings a helluva lot more fun.

Tune in to Shudder this Friday evening to see The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman, but do continue tuning in every other Friday night thereafter to keep the party going, Mutant Fam.
