The game will put players in the hands of Leatherface, another member of the Slaughter family, or one of their potential victims, with the universe firmly inspired by director Tobe Hooper's seminal 1974 horror classic. For those who are feeling particularly eager, physical editions and digital copies of the game are available through several retailers as of today.
In another bit of very good news, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre retails for $39.99 at launch. That is significantly cheaper than many new AAA games that have been hitting shelves this year, with Dead Island 2 going for $69.99, for example. So, you get to shred folks as Leatherface at a relative bargain. What more could one ask for? Additionally, physical copies of the game will come with a special poster while supplies last.
This game will utilize a similar play style that has become popular in recent years, particularly in the horror realm. Much like Evil Dead: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds, or Dead by Daylight , it's a hunt-or-be-hunted situation. In this case, it will be three against four. Also of note, publisher Gun Interactive recently revealed that the game will feature crossplay at launch. So if you've got a PlayStation, but your buddy has Xbox, you can still play together. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre arrives for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC on August 18. Pre-orders are live through a variety of retailers, but Steam currently has the game available for 10% off, for those who intend to go the PC route.
