Fans of Michael Myers and visiting pieces of horror history need pay attention as a unique opportunity has come up thanks to the folks at On Set Cinema. The organization has announced that on Friday, August 25 in Salt Lake City, Utah, they will be screening 1989's Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. But why do this in Salt Lake City? Because it, for all intents and purposes, serves as Haddonfield and the screening will take place at The Myers House.
For the first time ever, fans will have the opportunity to check out the historic Victorian home that was used as the actual filming location for The Myers House in the fifth installment of the franchise. This is the location where Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) and Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris) face off with Michael Myers during the movie's climax. So yeah, a pretty cool opportunity, all things considered.
So, what can those who attend expect, exactly? Per a press release, On Set Cinema explains that there will be Halloween music playing, trick-or-treat candy, as well as a complete guided tour of the property grounds, with an outdoor screening of the film in the front yard to top it all off. For the biggest of big Halloween fans out there though, there will be a very limited opportunity to spend the night inside the house for the ultimate experience. Just seven people will be allowed to do this, but there will be pizza, drinks, board games and of course, a "horrorthon" with more movies playing late into the night.
Admittedly, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers is not often found at the top of anyone's franchise ranking. It's an odd film that serves as the middle chapter in the weirdest trilogy in the series, which kicked off with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, a movie that has truly found its audience over the years. It's bookended by Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Even though it's not the most beloved entry, this is all about the experience, and experience is promised, to be certain.
