That's rule #1, and these teens just broke it.

Today brings us the first trailer for Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg's Tarot, which is headed to theaters this May via the good folks at Sony Screen Gems. As its title may imply, this one revolves around a group of teens who monkey around with the wrong deck of Tarot cards ... which leads to a number of gruesome consequences.

Here's an official synopsis, via Bloody Disgusting:

"When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings – never use someone else’s deck – they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards in the upcoming Screen Gems horror movie Tarot. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings."

Alright. Let's see it in action!

Tarot looks to be a fairly standard "doomed teens who are in way over their heads" horror jam, which is something we'll never turn our nose up here at FANGORIA. Last year it was Talk to Me's disembodied hand; this summer, it'll be a cursed deck of Tarot cards (and the various evil spirits that manifest their way out of it). Sure, we'll give it a watch!

Cohen and Halberg (who also co-wrote the film) direct a cast which includes Harriet Slater, Adain Bradley, Avantika and frequent MVP of the MCU Spider-Man movies Jacob Batalon. It'll hit theaters on May 10th, and you should stay tuned for any further Tarot updates that might pop up between now and then.
