Abigail, the upcoming ballet of blood from Radio Silence aka Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not, Scream, Scream VI), is one of our most anticipated horrors of 2024 - and if it's not one of yours already, it will be after you get your eyes on these brand new stills.
Allegedly originally titled Dracula's Daughter, Abigail stars Scream queen Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton (Freaky, Lisa Frankenstein), Dan Stevens (The Guest, Legion), William Catlett (Black Lightning, True Story), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Angus Cloud (Euphoria, North Hollywood), with Alisha Weir (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Darklands) starring as Abigail herself.
A plot synopsis reads as follows:
“After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”
So, let's dive into these stills, which were bought to us earlier today via Bloody Disgusting. We've got Barrera covered in blood, Newton covered in slime (?), and some fierce fighting moves from the titular tiny vamp. Promisingly, Abigail has been rated “R” for “Strong bloody violence and gore throughout, pervasive language and brief drug use” - and these stills definitely promise some of that delightful gore.
Abigail hits theaters on April 19 after its world premiere at this year's Overlook Film Festival.
