Founders Day, the upcoming political slasher from the Bloomquist Brothers (Ten Minutes to Midnight) hits theaters nationwide on January 19 - and producers Mainframe Pictures have today debuted a brand new trailer and poster to get you in the mood for a new year's bloodbath.

The slasher sees the reunion of 13 Reasons Why duo Devin Druid and Amy Hargreaves, who star alongside William Russ (Boy Meets World), Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things), Naomi Grace (NCIS), Emilia McCarthy (SkyMed), Jayce Bartok (SubUrbia), Olivia Nikkanen (The Society), and Andrew Stewart-Jones (Gotham).

A series of ominous murders rocks a small town just days before a heated mayoral election. As accusations fly and the threat of a masked killer darkens every corner, residents must race against time to uncover the truth.

Previously, The Hollywood Reporter let us know that Founders Day had been picked up for North American distribution by Dark Sky Pictures. Speaking to THR, the Bloomquist brothers teased a little more of the inspiration behind this new masked slasher icon, ominously known as "The Founder":

We’re very happy to be partnering with the team at Dark Sky who know and love the power of genre cinema like we do [...] As the chaos of modern politics rages, The Founder is primed and ready to be unleashed on American audiences.

In this new trailer (and amazing '90s throwback poster to boot), we get a sneak peek of what looks to be more than a few vicious slayings from The Founder, as well as an up close and personal look at that terrifying mask.
