Dan Attias' Silver Bullet (1985) is one of the Me Decade's more successful Stephen King adaptations. Oh, sure, its FX might be a little rough around the edges by modern standards, but the film overflows with well-orchestrated set pieces and a handful of great performances from a few beloved character actors (including Everett McGill and Gary Busey), and can also lay claim to being the only werewolf movie ever made where Corey Haim rides a superpowered wheelchair. What's not to love?
The good folks at Shout Factory agree, and that's why they're releasing a brand-new 4K UHD version of Silver Bullet on December 5th. When ordered via ShoutFactory.com, the release includes a rolled 18x24" poster featuring the original artwork, while all sets sold will include the film in both 4K and Blu-ray, a sharp new transfer from the original camera negative, and a fresh commentary track featuring Eric Vespe and Scott Wampler, hosts of FANGORIA's THE KINGCAST podcast.
