Academy award-winning Argentinian writer and director for the film The Secret in Their Eyes, Juan José Campanella, created the series, which has become popular without much press and entered the top for the first time last week.

The series is about two Vatican officials who are sent to different parts of the world to investigate alleged miracles and healings attributed to church members to verify their veracity. Vatican horror seems to be an emerging subgenre with The Envoys and the popular hit film The Pope's Exorcist.
