As spotted by the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting, a brand-new Max promo reel has arrived, and contained within is our very first look at the streamer's forthcoming IT prequel series, Welcome to Derry. The series, which was recently moved into 2025, is being shepherded to television by Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the dynamic duo behind IT and IT: Chapter Two.
It's only a brief bit of footage - a number of shots in rapid succession, one of which includes a telltale red balloon - but what's here certainly looks of a piece with Muschietti's IT duology.

Pretty nifty, no? One question we immed as further updates roll in, gang. otage (and its onscreen graphic): Is the official title Welcome to Derry: From the World of IT? A little unwieldy if so, but it ain't terribly important; what's important is that we're getting a whole-ass IT series, presumably one that will dig further into the mythology established in King's original novel (in other words, don't be surprised if we end up learning the history of The Black Spot, or seeing more of Pennywise's earliest time on Earth) while also telling a new tale set in the '60s.
Welcome to Derry stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Madeleine Stowe and Stephen Rider. No word yet on who might be playing Pennywise in the series, but we're guessing that Max will be keeping that info under lock and key for as long as possible.
